Ms. Herrera-Ortega is the proprietor of The Law Office of Rosana Herrera-Ortega and has practiced law in San Diego since 1992.

Ms. Herrera-Ortega concentrates her practice on business and Corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, contractual and licensing issues, and employment law. The Law Office of Rosana Ortega represents a diverse group of legal entities, including, medical groups, engineering and software corporations and nonprofit corporations.

Ms. Herrera-Ortega previously served as In-House Counsel to the thirteenth largest accounting firm in San Diego County, as well as to several privately-held entities where she focused her practice on acquisitions, employment and labor matters. Ms. Herrera-Ortega represented public educational entities throughout the State of California. She has also represented Fortune 500 companies, where she provided assistance in a broad range of litigation and transactional matters.

Ms. Herrera-Ortega is a member of State Bar of California where she is licensed to practice in all courts of the State of California, and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of the State of California. Ms. Ortega is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, and a past member of the San Diego Trial Lawyers Association.

In addition to her legal career, Ms. Herrera-Ortega has and continues to serve on the Board of Directors of a number of charitable organizations. Ms. Herrera-Ortega currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of ACCION San Diego, and LEAD San Diego. Ms. Herrera-Ortega also serves as general legal counsel to the San Diego Council on Literacy.

Ms. Herrera-Ortega earned her B.A. in English from the University of San Diego, where she graduated with Honors in 1985. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law.
